2023 HIGHLIGHTS

Thank you for an amazing year! We can’t wait to bring your stories to life in 2023!

iFIT Canadian National Park Hiking, Cycling & Rowing Series

Hikers, bikers, and rowers in the Canadian Rockies for iFIT series.

Throughout 2023, we continued our ongoing creative partnership with iFIT producing immersive, home-based fitness programming. Over the summer, our team spent two months in the Canadian Rockies shooting a total of 78 workout videos for five new, multi-part series featuring biking, hiking, and rowing experiences in Canada’s iconic Banff, Jasper, and Yoho National Parks. We were stoked to work with world-class athletes Ashley Paulson and Yuri Hauswald for two bike series; Heather Jensen and Knox Robinson for two treadmill/elliptical series; and Susan Francia for a rowing series. Fisher Creative completed post-production for all 78 videos in late 2023 and iFIT will release the new series on its platform sometime during 2024.

In November, we were beyond excited for iFIT to release two new Fisher Creative-produced, Bhutan-based series: Journey Within, a 10-episode treadmill/elliptical series featuring Casey Gilbert and Kenton Cool, and Secrets of Happiness, a 10-episode bike series featuring John Peel. You can check out the respective trailers here and here. Shot and edited in late 2022 and early 2023, we designed all 20 episodes from the two series to be first-of-their-kind fitness programming experiences that combine workouts with rich exploration and storytelling, featuring some of Bhutan’s most unique and inaccessible physical and cultural landscapes.

We can’t wait for the Canadian National Parks series to go live and to create more epic content with iFIT in 2024!

HUMANΨUNITY: A Global Mobilization in Support for Ukraine

Images of Ukrainians from film Human Unity.

A passion project we began in 2022 a few months after Russia invaded Ukraine, HUMANΨUNITY is a feature-length documentary that explores a lesser-known side of the war: the inspiring, untold stories of the volunteers supporting Ukraine. Men and women, Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian, businesses and private citizens, civilians and soldiers who stepped forward to do their part to help Ukrainians remain empowered and resilient, revealing the tremendous power of human unity.

In 2023, we continued advancing the film. Interviews and footage captured during additional production trips in winter and spring of 2023 fleshed out the key stories now at the center of the film. Post-production readying the film to share with the world is ongoing. In July, a new trailer released last spring received a cinematography award from Communication Arts Magazine’s 64th Annual Photography Competition.

As the war approaches its third year, with still no end in sight, it’s more important than ever to resist “war fatigue” and remain engaged. More than just a film, HUMANΨUNITY is a call to action and an impact multiplier that shines a light on what is possible when people unite behind our shared humanity. It aims to inspire viewers to reject hopelessness, embrace the power of volunteerism, and join the movement in support for Ukraine.

We continue to seek financial support to complete post-production for this primarily self-funded endeavor. We hope to have the film broadcast-ready sometime in 2024. If you are inspired to be a part of HUMANΨUNITY, please consider contributing a tax-deductible donation here or contact us at info@fishercreative.com.

Columbia Sportswear – Baja

Fisherman walking near a lighthouse in Baja California Sur, Mexico.

December brought us back together with long-time Fisher Creative partner Columbia Sportswear for a story-driven product photo shoot in Mexico’s sunny and beautiful Baja California Sur. Our team spent two weeks in the area capturing Columbia gear in action for scenes featuring family and friends enjoying camping, hiking, and fishing experiences in various locations on Baja’s eastern side along the Gulf of California. We always love working with Columbia, and it was a truly epic way to close out the year – we can’t wait to tell more stories with Columbia in 2024!

In Pursuit of Passive

Passive home in Wilson, WY.

We’re thrilled to share that in November we completed our documentary short In Pursuit of Passive about the first passive house in the Greater Tetons-Yellowstone Region near Jackson, WY. Several years in the making, while the home was designed and built, the film follows the home’s construction while explaining the Passive House building approach for designing and constructing better buildings and exploring the many associated climate and energy benefits. Produced in collaboration with Love|Schack Architecture, we look forward to premiering and screening In Pursuit of Passive in 2024!

A Rally for Rangers and Rangers of the Ulaan Taiga

Two documentary projects Fisher Creative completed last year, A Rally For Rangers and Rangers of the Ulaan Taiga, continued engaging audiences and gaining recognition at film festivals around the world throughout 2023. A Rally for Rangers follows the story of the Rally for Rangers movement and its work empowering under-equipped and often under-appreciated rangers around the world with new motorcycles and equipment as they work to protect some of the world’s most valuable, vulnerable, and sometimes life-sustaining natural and cultural resources. Sixteen festivals have honored A Rally for Rangers as an official selection or award recipient. Rangers of the Ulaan Taiga, a short derived from the feature, focuses on the stories of the rangers dedicated to protecting a remote, pristine national park in Mongolia. Thirteen festivals have featured Rangers of the Ulaan Taiga as an official selection or award recipient.

We’re working to secure streaming distribution for A Rally for Rangers and make it available to audiences around the world in 2024!

Yellowstone Teton Territory and East Idaho Tourism

One of Fisher Creative’s fortes is collaborating with our partners to visually showcase the epic adventures and experiences available at top travel destinations around the world. With the Tetons and Yellowstone in our backyard, we’ve frequently done so for our one-of-a-kind home region. In 2023, we collaborated with Yellowstone-Teton Territory and East Idaho Tourism to create a series of commercials highlighting all the different recreational pursuits across the different seasons that can be realized in the area for their ”Reimagined” campaign.

New Projects in Development

While we can’t yet say much about them publicly, we developed two new projects over the course of 2023 that we’ll be working on in 2024. One is an inspiring environmental story featuring several world-renowned scientists and exploring hopeful solutions for climate change, conservation, biodiversity, and more. The other is an episodic docuseries exploring the stories of how a particular form of outdoor recreation is about more than the endeavor itself, acting as a catalyst for personal transformation, human connection, inspiration, and more. We look forward to sharing more about each project over the course of 2024!
