Permitting
Cinematography and Photography in National Parks
Moab is surrounded by iconic public lands—including Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) areas, and the Manti-La Sal National Forest—each with its own permitting requirements for commercial filming and photography.
The specific requirements and procedures can vary among different national parks and will also differ for the Forest Service. Thorough research on a region of interest is critical. Applying for film and still photography permits can take longer than expected. Though time-consuming, these processes protect our national parks’ natural and cultural resources while allowing for the creation of action and adventure photography and cinematography. Depending on the scale of a project, there may also be fees and additional costs associated with a permit. However, you can save time and effort when you work with the Fisher Creative team.
